Welcome
Whether you are an alumnus of Tactical Training Group, Atlantic (TACTRAGURLANT), or a first time visitor, our website provides information about the myriad of courses we teach.
Our showcase course of instruction includes the Maritime Staff and Planners Course (MSPC). Each course we offer is continuously updated to meet the needs of the fleet. Our training expertise originates from every naval warfare specialty and our instructors are subject matter experts in their respective warfare area. They serve as an invaluable classroom resource on current tactics and operational procedures used in the fleet. Our computerized training facility reinforces tactical principles and doctrine taught in the classroom, and provides realistic hands-on training to students during wargame scenarios in order to prepare for deployment.
As a center of excellence for strike group training, we also host a joint best practices platform that provide a "one stop gouge" for strike group staffs and individual units to use in preparation for and throughout pre-deployment training and deployed operations. These best practices are based on observation, feedback, and lessons learned garnered from strike groups, the Navy Lessons Learned database, liaison with forward deployed fleet staffs, and inputs from throughout the fleet training domain, including Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 4 and CSG-15, tactical training groups, and expeditionary warfare training groups.
Important Note: TACTRAGRULANT and the Dam Neck Annex both fall under NAS Oceana for severe weather considerations.
Check with the TACRAGRULANT quarterdeck, the NAS Oceana Quarterdeck, the NAS Oceana Facebook Page or local news stations for updates regarding base closure/delayed arrival in the event of severe weather. Students fall under Category "B" (non-essential) personnel. Please check the admin and student check-in pages for phone numbers.
