ETC (SW/IW) Michael A. Zapiecki, a native of Clearwater, Florida, enlisted in the Navy in October 2009. Following completion of Basic Training and ‘A’ school in Great Lakes, IL, he attended ‘C’ school at Training Support Center San Diego. From there, he reported to USS DE WERT (FFG-45) where he served as communications technician and qualified as Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist. USS DE WERT was decommissioned in 2014, and he then transferred to USS VICKSBURG (CG-69), where he promoted to ET2 and qualified as Combat Systems Officer of the Watch.
He transferred to NCTAMS PAC in October 2015 where he qualified as Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist and led a team of sailors to support VTC and STJ operations for the Pacific Fleet.
Back to sea, he reported to the USS McFAUL (DDG-74), where he was promoted to ET1, qualified as Combat Systems Coordinator and Combat Information Center Watch Officer, and then promoted to ETC.
He now serves as the Senior Enlisted Leader of Tactical Training Group Atlantic.
