CAPT. James A. Quaresimo

Captain James A. Quaresimo is a native of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania and enlisted in the Navy as a Damage Controlman in 1988. His enlisted tours of duty include USS Gallery (FFG 26), instructor at Fire Fighting Training Division, Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, and as Repair Division Leading Chief Petty Officer aboard USS Mitscher (DDG 57).
Commissioned as a Surface Warfare Officer through the Seaman to Admiral Program in 1997, Quaresimo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Jacksonville University graduating Summa Cum Laude. Additionally, he holds a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies, with an additional qualification designator in the Asia-Pacific Area of Studies, from the College of Naval Warfare, U.S. Naval War College.
At sea, he served as First Lieutenant aboard USS Boone (FFG 28); Fire Control Officer aboard USS Vicksburg (CG 69); Operations Officer aboard USS De Wert (FFG 45); and Commanding Officer of Patrol Coastal Crew Delta. While in command of PC Crew Delta, he also commanded USS Squall (PC 7) home ported in Little Creek, Virginia and USS Chinook (PC 9) home ported in Bahrain. Captain Quaresimo served as Executive Officer and Commanding Officer of USS Cole (DDG 67) and he served in major command as the commissioning Commanding Officer of USS Fort Lauderdale (LPD 28).
Captain Quaresimo is a Joint Qualified Officer whose personal awards include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, four Meritorious Service Medals, five Navy Commendation Medals, four Navy Achievement Medals and numerous campaign and service awards.
