HTCM(SW/AW) Anthony S. Alves, is a native from the great Red Sox Nation of Boston Massachusetts. He enlisted in the Navy in November 2000, completed Recruit Training and Hull Technician “A” School in Great Lakes, IL in 2001 then reported onboard USS Frank Cable (AS-40).

Following his consecutive overseas FDNF tours in Guam, he transferred to Naval Education and Training Command Great Lakes in 2008 as an HT “A” School Instructor. Here, he attended and completed Journeyman Instructor Training (JIT) and qualified as a Master Training Specialist (MTS).

In October of 2011, he attended Advanced High Pressure Weld School earning NEC 4955 and followed on to USS Cole (DDG-67). While onboard, volunteered as a Surface Rescue Swimmer and attended training at Naval Air Station Jacksonville earning NEC 0170.

In 2013 Master Chief transferred to Assault Craft Unit Four as the Maintenance Chief responsible for all corrective actions for eight LCAC’s. There, he moved on to DLCPO and Repair (R-1) Division Officer where he was responsible for all planning and executing efforts for all maintenance actions on 33 LCAC’s. During his tour, he deployed on USS Arlington, USS San Antonio and USS Carter Hall.

Master Chief attended LCAC Craftmaster training in August of 2016 and reported to ACU4 as an operator. He terminated his tour early in December 2017 and volunteered to fill a critcal FDNF billet at Naval Beach Unit Seven. During his tour at NBU7, he completed five successful deployments meeting all Expeditionary Strike Group Seven mission requirements. Additionally, while forward deployed he filled various leadership roles to include Operations DLCPO, Detachment OIC, Operations Department Head and filled in as Command Master Chief on four separate occasions. Upon completion of this tour, he reported onboard EWTGLANT as an LCAC Craftmaster Instructor and currently filling the role of the Senior Enlisted Advisor.

Master Chief Alves’s personal awards include the Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (third award), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (forth award), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Senior Enlisted Academy graduate, and various unit/campaign awards. He has earned Enlisted Surface & Aviation Warfare and authorized to wear the Craftmaster Breast Insignia.
